They drink when Lebron James slam dunks. When Rihanna sings. When Will Smith acts. When Oprah Winfrey coddles.
They drink when they express comfortably in conversations — “You’re not like the rest of them…”
“Yes. The fuck. I am.”
They drink on Old Town Roads laid by Lil Nas X.
They drink when Black boys wear Kentucky blue and win game after game while shooting hoops.
They drink when Black boys succeed on the football fields of Alabama.
Roll Tide.
As strong, as dazzling, as loving, as supreme, as talented, as funny, as genius. as fascinating and as gifted as Black people are…
All we do is pour.
We pour for the entire world.
We have poured for far too long.
