Show Up, Today
It was the first week of September.
That day I’ll always remember.
Yes, I will.
Cause that was the day, I ordered Uber Eats.
The driver was late, but she told me it wasn’t her fault. Her phone died and she didn’t have a working charger.
She apologized viciously.
But the experience for me, the customer, fell flat.
That is the problem a lot of us have to deal with.
There is always something else to do.
Another Zoom call. Another email to answer. Another DM to respond to. Another text message to reply to.
The person who needs you doesn’t care about all that.
The obligations you have, are your chance to show up.
It doesn't matter that everything else you’ve done has been successful, or that you have satisfied one hundred happy people for one hundred days in a row.
To this particular person, this experience is all that matters.
So show up.
Right now.
Then the next time.
Then the next.
